Man acquitted of Murder of Trent Keegan, Award Winning Galway based Photographer

The man accussed of killing Galway based New Zealand photojournalist Trent Keegan in Kenya has been acquitted because of a lack of evidence.
Mr Keegan, 33, an award winning photographer, was found beaten to death in a drainage ditch in Nairobi on May 28, 2008 three months after he had arrived in the country.

Submissions are being sought from artists of all nationalities and living in Ireland, with a particular interest in photography, for an exhibition in the Spring 2012, inspired by the particular multi-use context of the Gallery of the Alliance Française which is also a café space.

This weeks Friday Frame was a recent winner of an award in the The Humanity Photo Awards. The images were captured by Dublin based photographer Lar Boland. They are a series documenting a beekeeping project in Uganda. The original documentary photography was funded by the Simon Cumbers Media Fund.
