So May is here and we’re looking forward to Summer. We’ve already started the Outdoor Sessions and had a lot of fun picking bluebells and running free in the Forests of Cork.

Lots of lovely images I’d love to share so ’stay tuned’ and I’ll try and get them up here in the next few days.

Montmarte after Dark

Steadily setting up our landscape site at www.kwoodardphotography.500px.com and while going through archives I came accross this image from Paris I took a few years ago.

I remember being freezing cold moving around montmarte trying to capture the ancient district in a personal way that may not have been seen by many before, I totally came across this angle of the area by chance and is indeed one of my favourite images from the trip.

Big Thank You!

Thanks so much to everyone who made it to the opening last night, we really enjoyed the evening and are looking forward to the run of the show.

Images from the launch to follow shortly and keep your eyes peeled as we’ll be posting a work hanging in the show to our blog each day while it’s on.

With 35 large scale shots on the wall and a further 45 limited edition prints to choose from in the archive section, available to take away from €150, there should be something for everyone to enjoy! All sales will generate funds for the ISPCC.

Thanks also to Saoirse, Caroline Downey and the ISPCC, the great team at the Copper House Gallery and Hendricks Gin and hope you all make it down to see the show.

These are two words which don’t take much to say but have an awful lot of power and meaning…. In some ways wedding photographer’s get a tough deal. We are part of the happiest day of your life, the build up, getting to know your families, spending lots of time with everyone and once you have collected the photographs you vanish :) This obviously doesn’t happen with every couple as I have made some amazing friends through the years and I love photographing their new arrivals and families for years to come after the big day.

But Siobhan was a bride in a million and yesterday I received this…..

It brought a tear to my eye as I wasn’t able to photograph her wedding due to my lil man Cailean making a very late arrival… So I had already asked a very special lady Ms Susan Renee of Susan Renee Photography to be on stand by “just incase” such a situation occurred where I wasn’t able to make Siobhan & Nigel’s Day.

We discussed the plan a, b and c and after a not so easy labour I ended up discharging myself the day of Siobhan & Nigel’s Wedding still hoping I would be able to crawl along to take some shots! :) Obviously this was never going to happen, but trust me if my family and Susan let me anywhere near the church I would have tried my best after popping more painkillers lol :)

Siobhan has popped around a few times to view her pics, tell me about her wedding day and meet the not so little man now that caused all the drama :) Yesterday she called in and told me that they are emigrating to Oz and gave me this lovely card.

As I said earlier it’s only a little thing to say thank you but to me it means a lot. I am very lucky to meet the people that I do and for them to become a special part of my life….

So to all my brides and grooms THANK YOU :) x

A little sneak peek of “Alison’s Love Story” which will be featured in an upcoming publication and was recently on Pearl and Godiva’s blog. The venue was the beautiful Glebe Country House near Kinsale in County Cork, tea party coordinated and styled by Pearl and Godiva, catering and cakes by Diva Boutique Bakery of Ballinspittle, flowers by Wild, macarons by The Cake Stand, and a video by Best Day Productions. Congratulations to Alison and Victor!
