Photographer Daragh Muldowney says : “17 counties touch the coast on our wonderful little island and I’ve travelled all 17 of them in my campervan, over about 9 weeks, capturing 100′s of images, 43 of which are contained in my book. These 43 images and some more will be exhibited at the Back Loft Gallery, Cathedral Studios, D8. The exhibition will open on November 10th (from 6 – 9 pm) along with the launch of the book and will run until the 21st of November. If you’re available and are interested in coming along, please save the date for the opening. Please forward onto to anyone that you feel may be interested.

I remember, as a child, wandering around the beach and rockpools and being fascinated by what I saw. Incredible colours and   patterns that kept me entertained for hours.Tiny little creatures in their own magical world.

Now, as a photographer, still with the child inside, I’ve tried to capture these beautiful places that surround us all on our stunning little island. I equate some of the beauty within these rockpools to a jewellery box because many of them are filled with gems and treasures in the shape of periwinkles, anemone, urchins, starfish and seaweeds of all types. I see the ocean as a veil and at low tide this veil is lifted to allow us a chance to have peep at this fantastic microcosm of another world.”
