So now we have Happy Faces Day and National Family Portrait Day, (Client pays a fee to a charity and studio supplies a free Portrait).

We just need 3 more so we photographers can do all our work in National Happy Photo Week and then chill out for the rest of the year scratching our backsides and being happy!

How about National Pet Photo Day, National Bonny Baby Photo Day and National Wedding Album Day?

The public will soon get cute to these free offers and do exactly like they did with the National Fish & Chips Day – form a queue to get their special offer and never set foot inside the door again till same time next year! Has anyone seen a queue outside a Chipper since last Wednesday? Not feckin likely.

The reality is that the majority of people who take up these special offers don’t give a rat’s ass about the charity, they just want something for nothing and the proof is when you try to sell them another Portrait, they call you a Robbin Bastard, threaten to expose you on the Marian Verruca Show and then leg it out the door with their freebie to the nearest copy shop where they get A4 photocopies for all the family @ €1.99 each.

I’m going to do it in reverse, offer to do a Family Portrait for my normal price but then donate €50 to the charity! Or I might start a National Photo in the Naughty Naked Nude Day, I don’t get many of them so it wouldn’t impact too much on my main business and it would be a good opportunity to blow the dust off my zoom lens!

Failing that, we could stick it to the Commercial Photographers for a change and have a Happy Building Photo Day followed later with a Happy Pack Shot Day!
