Ricky Stevens – RIP
Saturday, Apr 17th, 2010 in Photography News by Alan Murphy | 3 Comments
It is with sadness that I hear that Ricky Stevens, for many years the public face of Irish professional photography, though his work with the IPPA, passed away last night in St. James Hospital, Dublin. I first came across Ricky in DIT Dublin when he came to speak to students about the photography industry. In recent years he would always take time at shows to come over and give me words of encouragement for my work on photographers.ie. Our thoughts are with his family.
Ricky – Rest in Peace
UPDATE

Sad news. Hope there is a darkroom up there and that they have not gone digital.
Always encouraging. Ricky I hope there is a darkroom in heaven and a supply of Fry’s Cream bars.
It is December, 16th, 2010. Just today I learned that a good friend left us.
I met Ricky frist time in 1968, when my father, Friedel Bollen (1925-2005), gave a seminar for Europhot in Waterford, Ireland. Since that time we met on many occasions and had a great time. The past 10 years we had little contact to Ricky.
We will always remember him as a great person, a good photographer and a very good friend. Rest in peace.
